Completing a Patent Application
Recently I was informed that the patent that we had filed the past summer had finally made it was on to the Government Web site. It’s still a pending patent, however as my first one this still feels like a major milestone in the process. Overall the creation of a new technology was a very exciting process, from building the initial inception and many iterations after of Notification Center, to all the meetings with our legal council to work through the possible patents.
First I think it’s very important to thank the development teams who worked very hard to build and implement the Notification Center, turning an idea and a concept in a tangible real world piece of software that is shipping out to some of the largest companies, and governments. We continue to work to improve Notification Center and focus on developing more value for our end users.
Also I have to give a giant thank you to David who without his dedication and drive we may not have pushed as hard as we did to move the needle with Notification Center. Additionally it’s been a great experience internally at OpenText to take on these new challenges. The organization has been incredibly supportive in our teams desire to push forward with these new solutions and bring them to our customer base and the larger world.
